Before you connect
- The merchant tenant needs an active Diamond plan.
- Connect as the merchant owner or an administrator. Workstation agents cannot authorize a new AI connection.
- Decide whether Claude should access one store or every store in the tenant, and whether the connection should be read-only or operational.
Connect Claude in a few steps
- Open Claude settings, go to Connectors, and choose the option to add a custom connector.
- Name it COD Scale and enter exactly: https://app.codscale.io/mcp
- Choose Connect. COD Scale opens in your browser. Sign in normally, or continue immediately if you are already signed in.
- Review the client name, select one store or all tenant stores, and choose Read only or Operate with confirmation.
- Approve the connection. Return to Claude; the COD Scale tools are now available.
The correct first workflow
Ask Claude to list your stores first. Then select a store and request its workspace snapshot before asking for orders, products, OMS, checkout, tracking, finance, courier, Sheets, Telegram, Shopify, YouCan, or WordPress actions.
- Example: “List my connected stores and tell me which integrations need attention.”
- Example: “Open the workspace snapshot for Store A, then summarize today’s orders, fulfillment risks, tracking health, and COD cash.”
- Example: “Preview the changes needed to fix this checkout setting. Do not apply anything until I approve.”
Permissions and safety
- OAuth 2.1 with PKCE handles browser sign-in. Your COD Scale password and provider credentials are never sent to Claude.
- A one-store connection cannot list, read, or modify another store in the same tenant.
- Read-only connections expose no write tools. Operational connections still require a preview and confirmation token for destructive or broad changes.
- Every tool call is rate-limited, tenant-scoped, store-scoped, audited, and redacted before it reaches the activity log.
- The private COD Scale operations connector is separate from merchant MCP and is never granted to normal Diamond merchants.
Manage or remove a connection
In COD Scale, open Settings, then AI Connections. You can see the client, resource, store scope, permission mode, last use, and expiry. Revoke a connection there at any time. Claude must authenticate again before it can reconnect.
Troubleshooting
- Diamond required: confirm the subscription is active and linked to the same tenant you are signing into.
- No stores visible: connect a store first, or ask the tenant owner to grant the intended store during authorization.
- A tool is missing: the connection may be read-only, store-limited, plan-gated, or unsupported by that store adapter.
- Authorization expired: reconnect the same URL. Refresh tokens preserve the previously approved store and permission scope.
- Connection no longer wanted: revoke it from Settings > AI Connections instead of only deleting it in Claude.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to paste an API key into Claude?
No. Add https://app.codscale.io/mcp; COD Scale handles secure browser authentication and consent.
Can Claude access another store?
Only when you explicitly authorize all tenant stores. A one-store grant is enforced in the gateway and again by the commerce engine.
Can Claude make destructive changes by itself?
No. Destructive and broad tools return a preview and short-lived confirmation token before they can be applied.
Which plan includes this?
